A simple act of feeding a stray,

Can make a world of difference each day,

In the life of an animal in need,

Who may otherwise be left to bleed.

So let us extend our hands and hearts,

To the creatures who need us most,

For in doing so, we embody the essence,

Of compassion, love, and humanity’s utmost.

For many of us, our pets are our best friends and constant companions. But not every animal is lucky enough to have a loving home and a full belly. This is why SLLIT Rotaract Club has decided to give our love to helpless furry friends. Accordingly, a unique project called Feed a Stray was successfully conducted on April 5, 2023, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm by the Community Services Avenue of SLIIT Rotaract Club. The project involved a group of 30 volunteers who gathered at Rtr.Marlon’s place near the SPAR supermarket to cook a nutritious meal for the stray animals in the community.

The volunteers prepared a meal consisting of rice, pumpkin, carrots, fish, and shrimp with great enthusiasm and a sense of purpose. The objective of the project was to offer a helping hand to stray animals and bring light into their world by offering them love and care. Once the food was ready, the volunteers split into three teams and carried the food and necessary supplies on foot to designated areas in Malabe, Kaduwela, and Weliwita Street. These areas are known to have a high population of stray animals. As the volunteers walked along the route, they searched for any stray animals that may need their help. Whenever they spotted one, they set up a feeding station with fresh food and water. It was heartwarming to see the animals run towards them and enjoy their meal with so much enthusiasm. In total, the volunteers fed around 50 stray animals during the project, ensuring that they received the nourishment they deserved. They also made sure to clean up after themselves, leaving the area just as they had found it.

The Feed a Stray project was not only about feeding the animals but also about bringing a sense of companionship and love into their lives. By the end of the project, the volunteers were exhausted but filled with joy and satisfaction. They had made a positive impact in the community by helping the speechless and vulnerable beings around them. The Feed a Stray project was a small but impactful way to help furry friends in the community. The Community Services Avenue of SLIIT Rotaract Club hopes to inspire others to take up similar projects and make a difference in the world, one act of compassion at a time.

අපි අපේ ලොම් ඇති මිතුරන්ට ආදරණීය දෑත් දිගු කරමු.

අපි බොහෝ දෙනෙක්ට අපේ සුරතල් සතුන් අපෙ හොඳම මිතුරන් සහ නිරන්තර සගයන් වනවා නෙඅනුමනයි. නමුත් සෑම සතෙකුටම ආදරණීය නිවසක් සහ කුසගින්නෙන් තොරවීමට තරම් වාසනාවන්ත නොවේ. SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය අසරණ ලොම් සහිත මිතුරන්ට අපගේ ආදරය ලබා දීමට තීරණය කළේ එබැවිනි. ඒ අනුව, Feed a Stray නමින් සුවිශේෂී ව්‍යාපෘතියක් 2023 අප්‍රේල් 5 වන දින උදෑසන 10.30 සිට සවස 3.30 දක්වා SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ හි ප්‍රජා සේවා මාවත මගින් සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලදී. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියට SPAR සුපිරි වෙළඳසැල අසල Rtr.Marlon ගේ ස්ථානයට රැස් වූ ස්වේච්ඡා සාමාජිකයන් 30 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් කණ්ඩායමක් අවට අයාලේ යන සතුන් සඳහා පෝෂ්‍යදායී ආහාරයක් පිළියෙළ කළහ.

ස්වේච්ඡා සමාජිකයන් බත්, වට්ටක්කා, කැරට්, මාළු සහ ඉස්සන් සහිත ආහාර වේලක් ඉතා උනන්දුවෙන් හා එකම අරමුණක් ඇතිව පිළියෙළ කළහ. ව්‍යාපෘතියේ පරමාර්ථය වූයේ අයාලේ යන සතුන්ට අත්වැලක් සැපයීම සහ ඔවුන්ට ආදරය සහ රැකවරණය ලබා දෙමින් ඔවුන්ගේ ලෝකයට ආලෝකයක් ගෙන ඒමයි. ආහාර සූදානම් වූ පසු, ස්වේච්ඡා සමාජිකයන් කණ්ඩායම් තුනකට බෙදී ආහාර සහ අවශ්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍ය​ මාලඹේ, කඩුවෙල සහ වැලිවිට වීදියේ නම් කරන ලද ප්‍රදේශ​වලට පයින්ම රැගෙන ගියහ.

මෙම ප්‍රදේශ​වල අයාලේ යන සතුන්ගේ ගහනය වැඩි බව ප්‍ර​කටය. ස්වේච්ඡා සමාජිකයන් මාර්ගය දිගේ ගමන් කරන විට, ඔවුන්ගේ උපකාර අවශ්‍ය විය හැකි අයාලේ යන සතුන් සොයා බැලුවා. ඔවුන් එය දුටු විට, ඔවුන් නැවුම් ආහාර සහ ජලය සහිත පෝෂණ මද්‍යස්ථානයක් පිහිටුවා ගත්හ. සතුන් ඔවුන් දෙසට දිව ගොස් ඉතා උනන්දුවෙන් තම ආහාර වේල භුක්ති විඳීම හද උණුසුම් කළේය. සමස්තයක් වශයෙන්, ස්වේච්ඡා සමාජිකයන් විසින් ව්‍යාපෘතිය අතරතුර අයාලේ යන සතුන් 50 කට පමණ පෝෂණය කළ අතර, ඔවුන්ට ලැබිය යුතු පෝෂණය ඔවුන්ට ලැබෙන බව සහතික විය. තමන් සොයා ගත් ආකාරයටම එම ප්‍රදේශය හැර දමා පිරිසුදු කිරීමටද ඔවුහු වග බලා ගත්හ.

Feed a Stray ව්‍යාපෘතිය සතුන්ට ආහාර සැපයීම පමණක් නොව ඔවුන්ගේ ජීවිතවලට මිත්‍රත්වය​ සහ ආදරය පිළිබඳ හැඟීමක් ගෙන ඒම සඳහා විය. ව්‍යාපෘතිය අවසන් වන විට ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයන් වෙහෙසට පත්ව සිටි නමුත් ප්‍රීතියෙන් හා තෘප්තියෙන් පිරී සිටියහ. ඔවුන් අවට සිටින කතා කර කියාගත නොහැකි සහ අවදානමට ලක් වූ අසරණ සුරතලුනට උපකාර කිරීමෙන් ඔවුන් ප්‍රජාව​ තුළ ධනාත්මක බලපෑමක් ඇති කර ඇත. Feed a Stray ව්‍යාපෘතිය අවට තුළ සිටින ලොම් සහිත මිතුරන්ට උපකාර කිරීම සඳහා කුඩා නමුත් බලපෑම්කාරී ක්‍රමයක් විය. SLIIT Rotaract හි ප්‍රජා සේවා මාවත  බලාපොරොත්තු වන්නේ මෙවැනි ව්‍යාපෘති සඳහා තව තවත් අයව දිරිගැන්වීමට සහ ලෝකයේ වෙනසක් ඇති කිරීමටයි.

உரோம் கொண்ட நண்பர்களுக்கு அன்பான கரம் நீட்டுவோம்.

நம்மில் பலருக்கு எங்கள் செல்லப்பிராணிகள் சிறந்த நண்பர்கள் மற்றும் நிலையான தோழர்கள் ஆகும். ஆனால் ஒவ்வொரு விலங்குக்கும் ஒரு அன்பான வீடு மற்றும் முழு வயிறு கிடைக்கும் அளவுக்கு அதிர்ஷ்டம் இல்லை.  இதனால்தான் SLLIT Rotaract Club ஆதரவற்ற உரோம் கொண்ட நண்பர்களுக்கு எங்கள் அன்பை வழங்க முடிவு செய்துள்ளது.  அதன்படி, Feed a Stray எனும் தனித்துவமான செயற்திட்டம் 2023 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 5 ஆம் திகதி காலை 10.30 மணி முதல் மாலை 3.30 மணி வரை SLIIT Rotaract Club இன் Community Services Avenue மூலம் வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்தப்பட்டது.  SPAR பல்பொருள் அங்காடிக்கு அருகில் உள்ள Rtr.Marlon’s இடத்தில் சமூகத்தில் சுற்றித் திரியும் விலங்குகளுக்கு சத்தான உணவை சமைப்பதற்காக 30 தன்னார்வலர்கள் குழுவைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் இந்தத் திட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

தன்னார்வலர்கள் அரிசி, பூசணி, கரட், மீன் மற்றும் இறால் அடங்கிய உணவை மிகுந்த ஆர்வத்துடனும் பொறுப்புடனும் தயார் செய்தனர்.  இத்திட்டத்தின் நோக்கம்  விலங்குகளுக்கு உதவுவதும், அவர்களுக்கு அன்பையும் பராமரிப்பையும் வழங்குவதன் மூலம் அவர்களின் உலகிற்கு வெளிச்சம் தருவதும் ஆகும்.  உணவு தயாரானதும், தொண்டர்கள் மூன்று குழுக்களாகப் பிரிந்து, மாலபே, கடுவெல மற்றும் வெலிவிட்ட தெருவில் உள்ள நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பகுதிகளுக்கு உணவு மற்றும் தேவையான பொருட்களை கால்நடையாக எடுத்துச் சென்றனர்.  இந்த பகுதிகளில் அதிகளவில் தெருவிலங்குகள் நடமாட்டம் உள்ளதாக அறியப்படுகிறது.  தன்னார்வலர்கள் பாதையில் நடந்து செல்லும்போது, ​​​​தங்கள் உதவி தேவைப்படக்கூடிய  விலங்குகளைத் தேடினர்.  அவ்வாறு ஒரு விலங்கை கண்டபோதெல்லாம் அவர்கள் புதிய உணவு மற்றும் தண்ணீருடன் ஒரு உணவு நிலையத்தை அமைத்தனர்.  விலங்குகள் அவர்களை நோக்கி ஓடி வந்து மிகுந்த ஆர்வத்துடன் தங்கள் உணவை ரசித்ததைப் பார்க்க மனதிற்கு இதமாக இருந்தது.  மொத்தத்தில், தன்னார்வலர்கள் திட்டத்தின் போது சுமார் 50 விலங்குகளுக்கு உணவளித்தனர். அவைகள் தகுதியான ஊட்டச்சத்தைப் பெறுவதை உறுதி செய்தனர்.  அவைகள் தங்களைத் தாங்களே சுத்தம் செய்வதை உறுதிசெய்து  கண்டறிந்ததை போலவே அந்த இடத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறின.

 Feed a Stray எனும் திட்டம் விலங்குகளுக்கு உணவளிப்பது மட்டுமல்ல, அவர்களின் வாழ்க்கையில் தோழமை மற்றும் அன்பின் உணர்வைக் கொண்டுவருவதாகும்.  திட்டத்தின் முடிவில், தன்னார்வலர்கள் சோர்வடைந்தனர். ஆனால் மகிழ்ச்சியும் திருப்தியும் நிறைந்தனர்.  அவர்கள் தங்களைச் சுற்றியிருக்கும் பேச முடியாத மற்றும் பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடிய மனிதர்களுக்கு உதவுவதன் மூலம் சமூகத்தில் நேர்மறையான தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியிருந்தனர்.  Feed a Stray திட்டமானது சமூகத்தில் உள்ள உரோம் கொண்ட நண்பர்களுக்கு உதவும் ஒரு சிறிய ஆனால் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடிய வழியாகும்.  SLIIT Rotaract Club இன் Community Services Avenue ஆனது, இதேபோன்ற செயற்திட்டங்களை முன்னெடுப்பதற்கும், உலகில் ஒரு மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்கும் மற்றவர்களை ஊக்குவிக்கும் என நம்புகிறது.
