The Rotaract Club of SLIIT stands tall in youth-led professional development initiatives. STRIDE, our signature project, embodies RACSLIIT’s commitment to the professional and personal growth of the youth.

As usual, ‘STRIDE’ unfolded through three phases this year: Persona Stride, Corporate Stride, and Speaker Stride. VOCÈ being the centrepiece of the latter is a a public speaker crafting initiative and a public speaking contest, focused on honing communication and public speaking skills. The grand finale of VOCÈ’24 took place at SLIIT Metropolitan campus, showcasing eloquence, confidence, and persuasion.

Here’s a breakdown of the transformative  journey through VOCÈ:

Phase 1 – Embracing the Spotlight: Participants discovered the importance of confidence and poise in capturing the limelight with the guidance of Toastmaster Thalaal Naushad. 

Phase 2 – Art of Speech Structure: Participants uncovered the art of crafting impactful messages under the leadership of Toastmaster Pansilu Aloka.

Phase 3 – Delivering Messages That Matter: Toastmaster Prasansa Gunawardana enlightened the participants on the importance of authentic communication with meaningful and relatable messages to the audience. 

Phase 4 – Verbal Arena: The 10th of March dawned to test the speaking prowess of 30 participants. Eight of them were selected for the grand finale. 

Phase 5 – The Oratory Showdown: The Eight finalists unleashed their skills, with three emerging as winners.

VOCÈ’24 empowered participants with refined speaking skills and a deeper sense of purpose. It lived up to the legacy of its forerunners by unleashing voices, nurturing leaders and helping to create a generation of impactful communicators.
