Project Basha, launched by the Rotaract Club of Thane North and Rotaract Club of SLIIT, was crafted to nurture intercultural understanding and fellowship between nations through language exchange. This initiative unfolded on February 9th during a Joint General Meeting, drawing in more than 40 participants who actively participated in the language exchange.
The primary objective of the project was to cultivate an appreciation for each other’s native languages among the participants. Throughout the event, both clubs introduced their native languages by teaching basic phrases for self-introduction and everyday communication. Participants also engaged in discussions about movies, cuisine, and popular catchphrases, further deepening mutual understanding.
Basha not only celebrated linguistic diversity but also reinforced the bond between the youth of Sri Lanka and India. It underscored the importance of cultural exchange, mutual respect, and friendship, which ultimately contributed to fostering greater harmony and understanding between the two nations.
