In honor of International Women’s Day, the “Inspiring Her Story” project, spearheaded by the Rotaract Club of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Battaramulla, emerged as a beacon of empowerment and advocacy for gender equality. Held on March 16th, 2024, via Google Meet, this commendable initiative sought to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of women while fostering meaningful dialogue and promoting inclusivity in society.

Through a dynamic panel discussion, the project aimed to inspire, empower, and advocate for gender equality by showcasing the experiences and achievements of three inspiring women from diverse backgrounds. Manjaree Gamage from Sri Lanka, Eeda Rijal from Nepal, and Sankrriti Gaikwad from India shared their journeys as entrepreneurs and businesswomen, providing valuable insights and strategies for success.

The panel discussion centered around key topics such as supporting women entrepreneurs, promoting economic equality, and discussing initiatives for achieving work-life balance. Participants engaged in a two-hour session filled with stories of resilience, achievement, and strength, gaining invaluable knowledge and inspiration to pursue their own aspirations.

At its core, the “Inspiring Her Story” project aimed to achieve several objectives:

• Support women entrepreneurs and small business owners by providing them with essential education and resources.
•  Openly discuss the importance of financial independence and economic equality for women.
•  Unite young change-makers from different countries to create a powerful platform for knowledge-sharing and motivation.
•  Raise awareness about the contributions of women to society and foster dialogue around gender equality and empowerment.

By showcasing successful women from various fields of life, the project provided role models and inspired hundreds of young women to pursue their aspirations without limitations. Additionally, through storytelling and amplification of diverse perspectives, this project shed light to the voices of marginalized women, ensuring that their experiences and contributions are recognized and valued in society.
