“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” This profound quote perfectly encapsulates the remarkable leadership demonstrated by Immediate Past President (IPP) Manisha Alwis of the Rotaract Club of SLIIT. As we usher in another exciting Rotary year, it is the perfect moment to reflect on the extraordinary journey of a leader who has left an indelible mark on our club.

Let me introduce you to Manisha Alwis—a paragon of determination, inspiring leadership, and a heart of gold. Her tenure as president set an exceptionally high standard for what it means to lead our club. She embodies the true essence of a legacy leader and has consistently been a formidable force within the Rotaract community. Her unparalleled commitment and passion are evident in her accolades, including the “Most Outstanding President of the Year” and “Most Outstanding Club” awards. 

But she is much more than her impressive titles and achievements. Her sweetness and infectious laughter have brought a unique charm to our meetings. Despite her best efforts to maintain composure during the committee’s lighthearted moments, her laughter occasionally bursts forth, spreading laughter and joy among us all.

Manisha is a woman whose motivation and goal-oriented mindset are nothing short of inspiring. She has a remarkable track record of achieving nearly everything she sets her mind to. Her success and dedication make her a role model for everyone. It’s clear that associating with her is a privilege that we should all cherish.

For those who might have thought they were finally escaping her after four years with the SLIIT Rotaract Club, well you’re wrong! She will continue to work with the Rotaract Club of SLIIT one last time as she transitions from president to Immediate Past President.

With her extensive knowledge of Rotaract, she is the go-to person for any doubts or questions you may have. She is a living legacy of our club, and having had the opportunity to work with her is something we should all be grateful for. If you haven’t had the chance to meet her yet, I encourage you to make it a priority this year. Who knows where her path will lead after this chapter?
