“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Let me proudly introduce you to the Community Service Directors for the years 2024-25 of the Rotaract Club of SLIIT, Rtr. Danushkar Pushparajah and Rtr. Sarah Daniel. Their dedication to serving the community and their passion for helping others make them the perfect duo to lead the club’s community service initiatives this year. Both Danushkar and Sarah bring unique strengths and a shared commitment to making a difference, ensuring that every project undertaken leaves a lasting impact.

Rtr. Danushkar Pushparajah is someone who brings a vibrant energy to the table. Known for his inquisitive nature, Danushkar never hesitates to ask questions, reflecting his deep interest in any topic being discussed. His curiosity is not just a sign of his desire to learn but also his commitment to ensuring that every detail is understood and accounted for. This trait makes him particularly effective in planning and executing community service projects, where attention to detail can make all the difference.

Danushkar is also known for his friendly and outgoing personality. He’s the kind of person who ensures everyone around him is doing perfectly fine, often checking in on everyone and lending a helping hand whenever needed. His sense of humor, though he may think he’s funnier than he is, adds a light-hearted touch to the team’s dynamics. However, it’s important to note that Danushkar is not known for his punctuality and has a strong love for sleep, which sometimes causes him to be late to almost everything. Fun fact: Danushkar owns a bike named “Ganesh,” which he drives around extremely fast. As his co-director Sarah jokingly mentions, his main concern when it comes to any project is the budget. Beyond his amiable nature, Danushkar is innovative and always ready to bring fresh ideas to the table, especially when it comes to community service. His creativity and willingness to think outside the box have led to some of the most impactful projects the club has seen.

On the other hand, Rtr. Sarah Daniel is the epitome of kindness and compassion. With a heart as pure as hers, it’s no surprise that she’s often seen as the big sister, particularly by the girls. Sarah’s strong character doesn’t overshadow her sweet and loving nature—in fact, it complements it. She has a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for, always ensuring that those around her are doing well. Her love for animals is another testament to her gentle spirit; she wouldn’t hurt a fly, and her affection for all living creatures is truly admirable.

Sarah’s ability to hold a conversation for hours, coupled with her boundless energy and intelligence, makes her an engaging and inspiring leader. Her dedication to helping others is unmatched, and she’s undoubtedly the best person for the role of Community Service Director. Whether it’s lending a listening ear, offering wise advice, or rolling up her sleeves to get involved in a project, Sarah is always there, leading by example.

Together, Danushkar and Sarah form a dynamic duo that drives the community service initiatives of the Rotaract Club of SLIIT with passion, innovation, and heart.
