Rotaverse Day 1~A Heroic Beginning

“We may not be able to save the world, but we’ll damn sure avenge it!” — Tony Stark, Iron Man.

And with that energy, Day 1 of Rotaverse kicked off on the 7th of September at the SLIIT premises, brought to life by none other than our fearless chairpersons, Rtr. Ranuka Perera and Rtr. Tehan Nimsitha. From the moment the first participant stepped in, we knew this was going to be a day to remember. The morning started with an enthusiastic welcome, and to set the stage, we gave everyone a quick dive into what Rotaract is all about. A video showcasing the history of our club and the stellar projects we’ve undertaken in the past gave everyone a taste of what it means to be part of something bigger.

But let’s be honest—everyone was itching for the fun stuff! Enter the icebreaker session, where the real magic started. We split the participants into groups and kicked off some seriously entertaining bonding activities. The human knot was a hilarious highlight, as teams tried to untangle themselves, only to find their efforts getting more knotted. It had us questioning if we were training the next generation of superheroes or mastermind tacticians—either way, it was chaos of the most fun kind!

Next up were the avenue introduction presentations, where each avenue director got creative with mini-presentations about their respective avenues, urging the new members to join in on the action. But what followed was pure entertainment—team challenges that had everyone grooving! One moment they were doing ballet to hip-hop beats; it was like watching Thor attempt a pirouette—awkward yet strangely majestic.

And then came the crown jewel of the day: The Scavenger Hunt. With a full-blown Marvel theme, participants channeled their inner Avengers as they raced through three stages, from solving riddles to hunting down the elusive six infinity stones. Friendly competition ran high, and by the end, the leaderboard had a new hero team on top: Team Inglorious!

By 5 PM, with laughter, dancing, and brain-busting riddles behind us, the first day of Rotaverse came to a close. Team Inglorious might have claimed the top spot, but the real win was the bond forged between all our participants. As everyone walked away with smiles on their faces, we knew Day 2 was going to be even more epic.
