“A girl should be two things: who and what she wants.” — Coco Chanel
The above statement emodies these two more than anything I can write. This extremely talented duo are the perfect new career catalysts, hosting events that are fun but at the same time will help you level up your resume.
Ready to supercharge your career?
Let’s hear it for the Professional Development Co-director for the RI year 25-26,
Rtr. Suvasthiga Suveendran

You know that incredible quote from Madonna: “I am my own experiment. I am my own work of art.”
Well, that line is the absolute embodiment of Suvasthiga.
Suvasthiga is that one friend who is living a different life every day of the week. She completes side-quests like she’s playing a game of among us. She is our go-to for everything, from hosting events to being the speaker that always saves the day. And when she’s not doing that, she’s ticking off dance competitions like it’s a tally.
She is the definition of an IT girl.
If you try to call her at any random hour and you’ll probably hear, “Sorry, I’m at a dance competition again.”
She’s ridiculously talented in dancing. If you ask her to dance, don’t even listen to her brief, ‘Ayoo, I can’t,’ because she will instantly dust off her shoes and execute any dance step like it’s running through her veins. This matched with her incredible singing voice really seals the deal. She brings this fearless, dynamic energy to everything she does, and this year, she’s channeling it all into your professional success!
It’s quite inspiring how she balances everything in her chaotic schedule. With her extracurriculars and academics, she somehow manages to find the perfect equilibrium state. That’s why we are so lucky to have her as one of our Professional Development Co-Directors this year.
From the moment you spot her, you will instantly get the vibe that Suvasthiga is a total people person. She’ll happily pull you into the universe of watching reels…
sometimes even during lectures (shhhh, you didn't hear that from me).
Within two minutes of being in her vicinity, you will realise social anxiety is non-existent. She will chatter box her way into making you completely comfortable to drop your life story.
Combine that with her signature laugh. It’s the kind of sound you can hear from a mile away, the kind that needs its own warning label. When something cracks her up, she lets out this “Ayooh kadawaleeee” and just keeps on laughing until we are humanly forced to laugh to the point of tears because what are we exactly laughing at?! Her laugh! Only she knows why she’s cracking up.
She is undeniably one of the friendliest and sweetest souls you will ever meet.
You might wonder who is her bestfriend? It’s Achcharu, her absolute weakness. You want to win her over? BUY HER ACHCHARU. Maybe, add some Jumka earrings to the mix, in fact take her on a jumka treasure hunt and rest easy, because then, it’s a done deal. You’ve found the smooth-sailing path straight to her heart.
We could never forget her other quirks. Her friend Rtr. Heshanya recalled her undeniable love for painting her nails: “but here’s the catch: she’ll paint exactly one finger, stare at it for 10 minutes, and then declare, “Ugh, none of these colors suit me.” Classic Suvas.”
But I would say her most impressive story is her fitness journey. We were all so proud when she made the effort to get a gym membership! But that pride reached a legendary status when she unveiled her journey back from signing: she walked straight into P&S to buy a chocolate éclair, and that, friends, was the last time she stepped into the gym.
So proud right??
(Be nice guys, she still swears she wants to lose weight. We believe in you, Suvas! Your progress is proof!)
What a privilege to have such a character in the professional development avenue to help you develop professionally right?? I-, actually, that’s a bad lead-up, but see, it’s all about the passion for trying. That’s what the last paragraph is all about, so yes, what a privilege.
However, what makes this avenue unstoppable is that Suvas is Rachel to our Monica, her co-director. So who is this Monica you may ask?
Put your hands up for the Professional Development Co-director for the RI year 25-26,
Rtr. Miyuni De Almeida

She’s an absolute force of nature. She lights up any room she enters. Like literally! The way she strides in bravely and effortlessly is a study in charisma yet to be done.
Her ability to instantly grab an audience’s attention is clear from the countless Rotaract events she’s hosted, especially during Team Alpha.
This captivating quality of hers blended with her intense hard work is probably the secret for her rapid progress in her modelling career. It has allowed her to embrace her Barbie like elegance and style, and become a total fashionista! Her cherished possession aka her wardrobe would probably be a dream for many.
I mean just imagine. Seeing the outfits she pulls off, a dream is an understatement.
Because she handles everything with such grace, people mistakenly assume things come easily to her or that she might be spoiled. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Everything Miyuni achieves is a direct result of her giving her absolute best. She refuses to take any shortcuts and will not stop until the job is done. She is a queen who holds firm standards and knows her worth, so don’t even try to mess with her because you can’t win.
She will flash her inviting and sincere smile, mirroring her unwavering patience, maintaining a remarkable composure when everything around her becomes chaotic and overwhelming.
To give you an insight into her resilience, that one time when she co-chaired a project and faced last-minute complications, she handled it like the boss she is. She successfully turned the situation around and got the team back on track. The project ultimately ended up being more successful than expected.
It is in these moments that she transforms into her superwoman status, where she begins multitasking like an absolute boss. Whether she’s juggling work, responsibilities, family, or friends, she doesn’t just do it all, she does it to a T.
That’s her most endearing habit: her organization skills. She’s like Hermione Granger jotting down everything that needs to be done. From sending herself WhatsApp messages to adding tasks to her Google Calendar (even sleep!), she is the definition of organization and this is undoubtedly the secret weapon for her successful multitasking.
Trying to define Miyuni with just one word is impossible.
She’s someone who seems to have an infinite capacity for kindness, towards everyone. But she has a universe worth of love and kindness reserved just for her dog, who gets the cuddles and pets it deserves every morning.
To recharge, she seeks out her ultimate pleasure which is spending time with her family and friends. She selflessly invests everything into her relationships. If that doesn’t work, she has a more private but extremely valid ritual: she loves to cry and dance in her room alone.
Can't blame her, now, can we?
The only other things that could help her to de-stress and bring her comfort would be watching an episode of the sitcom “Joey” every single day and also watching the two greatest works of art that never fail to bring her to tears: the movies The Greatest Showman and Sanam Teri Kasam.
If she slips out of her composed nature, you might find her sipping an Affrogato from Barista, radiating a “manic pixie” vibe. Whenever she gets the opportunity, she’ll be singing songs, gossiping, and saying her most constant phrase: “Yeahh dudee!”
That phrase will never leave her vocabulary no matter her emotion. She could be disappointed, excited, angry, or even in shock, but she’ll never fail to say it.
You can bet she used those words during that time the car conversation got so real that she had to quickly change gears, become delusional, and start talking to imaginary people like she was on a talk show!
But I will leave you with what she would say, if she were to say something else:
“No matter how scared you feel, if an opportunity comes your way, go for it.“
With Rtr. Suvasthiga Suveendran’s fearless, dynamic energy and her talent for making connections, and Rtr. Miyuni De Almeida’s superwoman drive, unwavering patience, and flawless organization makes them the perfect new career catalysts to rock the Professional Development avenue.
