We rely on one person to serve as both our “memory” and “administrator” in the club. She make sure every decision, action, and member is accurately recorded and communicated.

It is my pleasure to introduce the cornerstone of our Board, our Club Secretary for the RI Year 25.26,

Rtr. Dulasha Annasiwatta

First thing you would notice about Dulasha when you meet her, is how beautiful her voice is. It’s soft, gentle and immediately puts you at ease. She makes a room instantly feel warmer and welcoming as she listens to every conversion like a therapist.

Like truly, she looks right at you and makes you feel like you’re the most important person in the room. It’s such a small, endearing habit that goes a long way. The beauty of it is that it’s something that comes naturally to her. And the bonus is that you get to have to hear her signature phrase, “Aneeeee,” in almost every other sentence. It’s actually endearing. Meet her and you will know exactly what I mean.

She is always giving something whether it’s her time, help or support without expecting anything back. It is like a passion of hers to be able to impact someone’s life with all the countless small acts of kindness that make people feel seen, valued, and a little less alone.

She cherishes cute little things and oh my, if you gift her one, she will lose her mind in excitement, after which, she will store it somewhere safe and sound. Except water bottles, those go straight to the trash can.

(not really, cause she doesn’t have the heart to do that)

Dulasha is an open book when it comes to dishonesty. She’s hilariously transparent that she can’t lie for the life of her. Her face immediately gives her away so if you need to lie, don’t drag her as your companion for moral support.

If she had a superpower, it would be to heal hearts. But just like Hermoine Granger, don’t mistake her kindness for weakness and think she’s an easy target to take advantage of. Because Dulasha is a strong willed person who is steadfast in her beliefs and has a fierce determination to fight for what she believes is right, even when it’s difficult or unpopular.

Dulasha shares Hermione’s highly logical approach that makes her a great person to have when you need resolve issues. She’s also an academic genius. She got a perfect 4.0 GPA last semester which is so Hermione coded. While the score itself is impressive, what’s truly remarkable is how hard she has worked and how she have never given up. If I didn’t know better, I would say Hermione’s character was inspired by Dulasha.

Dulasha’s “healing hearts” powers isn’t just confined to humans, it extends powerfully to animals as well. Her ultimate comfort zone is hanging out and playing with cats.

Like once, at university, she found a kitten that needed help. When she was carefully trying to free it, the frightened kitten bit her finger. Even though, her finger stung with pain, she didn't get angry or push it away. Instead, she remained calm and gentle until the kitten was safe. 

The most inspiring part about this quality is that she dreams of making a shelter for stray dogs and cats, which will probably expand into something bigger just like fluttershy from my little pony.

Maybe in the future, you will find her chilling with her beautiful animals in a garden house, with a lifeline supply of kitkats and bubble teas‘, probably watching Bridgeton over and over again.

(p.s. totally not taking this moment to inform that our stall (52) will be serving bubble tea on 16th Oct for the international fest...you can meet Dulasha there too)

What makes her perfect for this position is that she genuinely loves writing which is great when it comes to writing reports. Also, if you want to know anything at all, sprint to her because she has a directory of our club stored in her mind.

You can count on her to not only manage all our official documentation with incredible dedication (just like their ability to maintain a 4.0 GPA) but also bring a natural sense of warmth and calm to every meeting. Her commitment to service and kindness makes sure every piece of the club is handled with care, which will surely transcend further than just our club.
