You know, every group needs that one person who keeps the energy high, the spirits lifted, and still manages to quietly deliver when the pressure is on.

Make some noise for another one of our Vice Presidents for the RI Year 25.26,

Rtr. Kisaja WIjewardhana

Just like how every movie unavoidably has that one person who cracks the jokes, our club has Kisaja. He will turn every boring meeting into a comedy special. Like, literally…jokes run through his veins and he delivers like the world is in scarcity.

The best part is how naturally, non-chalantly and effortlessly perfect his jokes are. Like he will tell the joke with a perfect deadpan composure that sometimes, for tubelights like me, realising the joke is a cloud 9 moment.

With Kisaja, laughs don’t stop and meetings don’t finish on time because we need a recovery time of atleast 3 minutes after he cracks a joke. If you’re having a bad day, book a day out with him and he will cure you instantly because laughter is the best medicine, and he’s basically a walking pharmacy. Trust me, Kisaja was born to be a stand-up comedian, he’s just completing some side quests being in university, I guess.

But funnily enough, he’s completing these side quests with absolute perfection too so the stand-up comedian has to take the back seat for now. Kisaja is also known as a wizard when it comes to studies. Just like how we never see Harry Potter study, you will never see Kisaja study.

But on an exam day, he will come packed with jokes and a mere 15-minute study session for 3 months worth of material and pass with flying colours. And presentations? Oh, pleasee. Give him half an hour and he will cook up some slides that manages to get him steller grades. I know!!! Smart Kisaja strikes again.

Some people are truly gifted. You know, they say that people who are naturally funny, have a high IQ level. Kisaja is a living example of that. We’re all convinced he has a secret deal with the universe.

He’s also naturally talented when it comes to drama or acting. You can tell from how well he maintains his composure after cracking a joke in a serious situation (he puts us in trouble because unlike him, our composure falls apart). The guy performs like he’s born for the stage.

(I am aware, I keep saying he's born for a million things but he genuinely seems to be born for everything he tries. I'm honestly still trying to figure out how one person can be so good at so many things.)

He’s like that person who turns anything he touches into gold. Whether it’s sports, leadership, or academics, Kisaja always does everything in the best way possible. He’s also someone who always finds a way to push himself and improve. And that quality is the reason why, he’s one of the most talented athletes you’ll ever meet.

Don’t let him insisting he’s “too skinny” fool you, this guy is an absolute sports machine.

His second love in life is cricket! It’s not just a hobby, it’s literally his religion. If he’s not playing cricket, he will probably be watching it, and if he’s not watching it, he’s… okay, let’s be real, you will never find him in that state….ever.

He is also a karate kid, so be careful when things don’t go right, he will go through mini thunderstorms. But it only lasts like 5 minutes. Nothing a cricket update cant heal. So just know, you will never win a fight against him, he is armed with jokes that will roast you and moves that will shut you up instantly.  

However here’s the thing, Kisaja is not just funny and smart, he’s also hands down, one of the kindest and dependable person you’ll meet. Depending on the situation, he shifts roles.

Like if you need someone to calm down a tense situation? He will handle it with a smile and a joke. If you need someone to motivate the team? He’ll throw in advices that contains jokes which will leave you surprisingly motivated. If you need someone to take responsibility? He’s already on it.

That’s why, apart from being our “comedian”, he’s also one of the pillars of the board and the perfect person for this position.

If you follow Kisaja’s Instagram, you will realise this guy is an aesthetic photographer. His gallery is basically filled with everything that he loves: 10,000+ pictures of his partner and caption-worthy pictures of the sky and the beach. It’s through his pictures, you will also realise he’s a guy who values his people. He will never hesitate to go the extra mile for his friends.

Oh, and in his partner’s words, something noteworthy is “let’s not forget the highlight of Rotaract for him, let’s just say AFB (Anything for buttecup), and he means anything.” 

This balance is rare in a person. He can clown around, make you laugh until your stomach hurts, radiate just the right amount of chaos and still be kind and supportive, and make a big impact with whatever he does. Get ready for a year where we laugh harder, work smarter, and maybe, just maybe, learn his 15-minute study secret!

p.s. one last request, we need you to do a comedy show atleast once before this RI year ends.
