On the evening of 21st December, board members gathered around 6:30 p.m. at Rtr. Miyuni’s home as Holidaze’25 officially came to life. What began as a cozy Christmas get-together quickly turned into a night filled with laughter, surprises, and unforgettable moments. From decorating the space and setting up the Christmas tree to arranging a generous potluck spread, everyone contributed to creating a warm, cheerful atmosphere that perfectly captured the magic of the season.

The night kicked off with a horror movie screening Sabrina, a film centered around a possessed doll. While some watched bravely, others were clearly less prepared.
Rtr. Kisaja, who is famously afraid of horror movies, became the main target of playful mischief when people seated in the last row (mostly Rtr. Yasith), was throwing a crocodile plushie at him. His startled screams echoed through the room, quickly becoming one of the most entertaining moments of the night.
Following the movie, the Secret Santa session added another layer of festive fun. Ironically, Rtr. Dulasha received a doll as her gift, an amusing yet slightly eerie coincidence given the movie they had just watched.

Just when the group thought the surprises were over, Rtr. Jayod attempted to scare everyone by throwing a sauce packet from upstairs.
Instead, it hit the fan and exploded, splattering sauce across the living room like a dramatic crime scene even reaching the white walls.
As the night continued, an unexpected plumbing issue added to the chaos, with the engineering boys doing their best to fix it, though not entirely successfully. Yet, despite the messes and mishaps, the Christmas spirit never faded. One clear sign of this was the overwhelming amount of food left over, a reflection of the generosity and abundance that defined the evening. Rather than letting it go to waste, the remaining food was carefully packed, and the last few members heading home were happily sent off with parcels in hand.

More than just a celebration, Holidaze’25 was a reminder that the true spirit of Christmas lies not in perfection, but in togetherness, generosity, and finding joy even when things don’t go exactly as planned.
Amid the scares, spills, and surprises, the night successfully rekindled the warmth of the season leaving everyone with full hearts, shared memories, and stories that will be laughed about for years to come.
