Friday Feels: If you could create a new word, what would it be, and what would it mean?

Ever had a feeling so specific that your tongue just… tripped? You know, that moment where you’re trying to describe the exact smell of the air after it rains, or the physical pain of remembering something embarrassing you did a decade ago, but the English language just shrugs its shoulders?

Welcome to the 5th edition of Friday Feels!

This week, we decided that if the dictionary won’t help us out, we’ll just write our own.

They all decided to play Dr. Frankenstein with the alphabet, and the results are honestly fantabulous. Here are our favorite new additions to our “unofficial” dictionary.

I’m starting with this one because, frankly, I am currently standing at the epicenter of my own Taskquake. Picture this.. It’s late Thursday night, I’m winding down, and suddenly it hits me, this blog has to go out tomorrow! I opened my planner only to realize that the “Friday Feels” draft I told myself, I’d start on Tuesday was still just a blank page staring back at me. That mini-panic, that “oh no, I am the bottleneck” realization? That’s a Taskquake for you.

Have you ever had a week of total “gray” mode? You’re not hungry for pizza, but you’re starving for a sunset on a beach, a soul-shaking laugh with your best friend, or just a moment that makes you feel human again. Like an internal growl for something… more.

The word?

But nothing beats this word,

Imagine it’s 4:00 PM on a Friday. Your brain is at 2% battery, but you still need to check in with the team. You need a status update and an opinion, but you only have the energy for three syllables. Now, you have the word for it. I have a feeling our Club Editor is going to love this one.

But sometimes, a shortcut isn’t enough. Sometimes, the world demands we look a little closer at the people behind the titles. You know that chilling moment when someone who seemed untouchable or “perfect” finally loses their mask? You realize the public image was just a polished layer of paint over something much rotter.

The word for this is..

After a week of loud meetings and constant work. We need an ultimate reset. It’s not about being alone; it’s about finding yourself in the quiet.

You’re out on a Saturday morning with no plans and no group chat notifications. Whether it’s a quiet trail or a city street, you aren’t lost or lonely, you’re just exploring at your own pace. There’s a specific kind of freedom that only comes when you are your own only companion.

And just like that, the Dictionary of Us has six new entries. We’ve officially proven that if the English language is lagging, our community is more than happy to do the heavy lifting. Who needs a standard dictionary when you have a brain like ours?

I’m currently heading into the weekend to satisfy my Happytite and recover from the ruins of my Taskquake.

Happy Friday, you beautiful Solivagants!
