The 9h Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Panadura was held on the 15th of July 2017 at Jetwing Hotel, Panadura. On behalf of our club Rtr. Dileka Hettikankanama, Rtr. Ashane Edirisinghe, Rtr. Tharundi De Silva and Rtr. Sandali Tharaki attended the event.

The event commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries and the lightening of the traditional oil lamp. The chief guest of the event was Rtn. Ranganath Fernando, the President of the Rotary Club of Panadura 2017-18 and the Guest of honor for the evening was Rtn. Satyajit Seneviratne; Youth Service Chairperson 2017-18.

The ceremony was called to order by the outgoing President Rtr. Annapporna Jayasiriand and was followed by the Rotaract Invocation, Flag Salutation, Four-way test and the Rotaract song. The Secretary’s report for the year 2016-17 was presented by the outgoing Secretary Mandanika Jayasiri which included all the projects and events done by the club the previous year. A creative video clip which included memorable photographs from each project conducted in the year 2016-17 was then played.

Then the outgoing president Rtr. Annapporna Jayasiri addressed the gathering and shared her thoughts. She thanked everyone who supported her to complete the year successfully and specially mentioned the Outgoing Secretary Rtr. Mandarika Jayasiri who won the silver award for the annual report at the 27th Rotaract District Assembly. Next, Rtr. Dileepa Udumalagala introduced the 9th incoming President of the Rotaract Club of Panadura, Rtr. Charindra Salgado.

Then the outgoing president Rtr. Annapporna Jayasiri collared the Incoming president Rtr. Charindra Salgado and officially handed over the duties and responsibilities of the club. Then the new President, Rtr. Charindra Salgado addressed the gathering and the new Board of Directors for the year 2017-18 were inducted.

Afterwards, the Rotaract Club of Panadura presented the project ‘From My Heart 2 Yours’ which carried out in aid of the visually impaired children at Lady Ridgeway Hospital.

DRR Rtr. PP. Anuradha Senanayake was then invited to address the gathering. She congratulated the new President and the Board of Directors and recognized the efforts of Rtr. IPP Annapporna Jayasiri. This was followed by the address of District Rotaract Committee Chairperson Rtn. PP. Bobby Shrinivas.

Then the Rotaract Club of Panadura bid farewell to three of their senior Rotaractors; Rtr. Bhagya Rathnayake, Rtr. Indika Fernando, Rtr. Lakshan. A farewell video was played as a tribute for their service.

Next the podium was taken up by Guest of Honour; Youth Service Chairperson 2017-18 Rtn. Satyajit Seneviratne. This was followed by the address of the Chief Guest for the evening, Rtn. Ranganath Fernando, the President of the Rotary Club of Panadura 2017-18.

After the distribution of tokens of appreciation to the dignitaries, the floor was open for felicitations. The vote of thanks was delivered by Rtr. Mayumi Perera, followed by the National Anthem. Then the 9th Installation ceremony of Rotaract Club of Panadura was successfully concluded.
