The 44th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Colombo West was held on the 14th of July at Laksham Kadirgaman Institute Colombo 07. On behalf of our club Rtr. IPP. Kavinda Bandulasena attended the event.
The Installation ceremony commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries and the lightening of the traditional oil lamp. The Chief Guest of the event was Rtn. Chamath Kulasinghe, the President of the Rotary Club of Colombo West and the Guest of Honor for the evening was Rtn. Yukthi Gunasekeraratne; Youth Service Director 2016-17.
The ceremony was called to order and was followed by the Rotaract Invocation, Flag Salutation, Four-way test and the Rotaract song. The Secretary’s report for the year 2016-17 was presented by Rtr. Senal Jayawardana which included the story of successfully completing 51 projects including their award-winning signature projects “West Aid”, “Fellowship 11” and “West Skate Day” and their achievements in member development.
Then the outgoing president Rtr. Sasmini Bandara addressed the gathering and shared her thoughts. She thanked everyone who supported her to complete the year successfully and concluded her speech with a touch of motivation for the gathering.
Then tokens of appreciations were handed over to the outgoing board and the outgoing president Rtr. Sasmini Bandara collared the Incoming president, Rtr. Nemitha Lakmin Weerasuriya and the duties and responsibilities of the club was officially handed over to him. Then the new President, Rtr. Nemitha Lakmin Weerasuriya addressed the gathering and the new Board of Directors for the year 2017-18 were inducted.

Afterwards, DRR Rtr. PP. Anuradha Senanyake addressed the gathering where she advised the incoming president to make his own mark.
Then the Guest of Honor, Rtn. Yukthi Gunasekera, Youth Service Director 2016-17 educated the young Rotaractors on “Imagination and Failure” followed by the address of the Chief Guest Rtn. Chamath Kulasinghe.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered followed by the National Anthem. Then the 44th Installation ceremony of Rotaract Club of Colombo West was successfully concluded on a high note.
