The 3rd Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of Colombo Regency was held on the 15th of November 2017 at the Royal College Union Skills Centre. On behalf of our club Rtr. Duleesha Waidyaratne, Rtr. Dhanushika Ranawaka and Rtr. Venuri Mallikarachchi attended the event.

The event commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest and the other dignitaries followed by lightening of the traditional oil lamp. The Chief Guest of the event was Rtn. PHF Aruni Siriwardene.

The ceremony was called to order followed by the Rotaract Invocation, Flag Salutation, Four-way test and the Rotaract song. Then the secretary’s’ report for the year 2016-17 was presented by Secretary for the year 2016 -17, Rtr. Yadushika Radhakrishnan.

Then the chief guest, Rtn. PHF Aruni Siriwardene addressed the gathering where she expressed her pride in how the club overcame the challenges they faced. Also at her speech she specially mentioned not to hesitate to ask help from their Rotary club whenever they needed and that they’ll be always there to guide them and to help.

Next the outgoing president, Rtr. Ramesh Seneviratne addressed the gathering and appreciated the support given by the Rotary Club of Colombo Regency and the friends in Rotaract and ended his speech wishing the best for the incoming president and his board. Then he collard the incoming President Rtr. Aaqil Nazeer and officially handed over the duties and responsibilities of the post.

Afterwards Incoming President Rtr. Aaqil Nazeer addressed the gathering and the new board of directors for the year 2017-18 was inducted.

Next the District Rotaract Representative PP. Rtr. Anuradha Senanayake addressed the gathering followed by the speech of the District Rotaract Committee Chairperson Rtn. PHF Bobby Srinivas where he explained that the Rotaractors should use these resources and opportunities wisely to make an impact on the society which would last even in their absence. Also he emphasized the fact how important the movement is in putting a person in the correct path through building leadership. Furthermore, he explained how his inner leader was born within the Rotaract movement in his speech where he mentioned that he was not comfortable in public speaking before but now being able to speak in front of any crowd.

Afterwards the event was entertained by a music session followed by the speech of the guest of honor, Mr. Ashan Kumar.

Then the tokens of appreciations were handed over to all the dignitaries who supported them for a successful movement followed by the vote of thanks and the national anthem which brought this event to the conclusion.

The Rotaract Club of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology is happy to have participated in the Installation Ceremony and we wish the Rotaract Club of Colombo Regency all success in the new Rotaract Year.
