On the 10^th of July history was made, the first ever virtual Rotaract District Assembly was held. Having been conducted physically for the past years, Rotaract had to shift and think ahead by shifting the 31^st Rotaract District Assembly onto a virtual platform to conform and adhere with COVID-19 restrictions and regulations. Nevertheless, the District Assembly was a very thrilling and engaging experience for everyone. This year, the District Assembly was organised by the Rotaract Clubs of Australian College of Business and Technology, Colombo Mid Town and University of Sri Jayawardanepura.

This annual event was held to begin a new Rotaract year where the new District Steering Committee was installed. It bears high significance in the Rotaract year where reigns are handed over. It marks the end of one year and the beginning of another, celebrations of the previous year and guidance for the new year.

The Rotaract Club of SLIIT also made its mark in the national arena by being shortlisted for 14 awards and bringing home 6 district awards. The Rotaract Club of SLIIT was awarded and recognised for its numerous contributions. Here is a list of our 14 shortlisted award nominations:

• Gold – Most Outstanding Club Blog
• Silver – Most Outstanding Initiative inline with Rotary Areas of Focus (Maternal & Child Health) for the project “Help Her Raise”
• Bronze – Most Outstanding Professional Development Initiative for the project “Stride”
• Bronze – Most Outstanding Initiative with a Rotary Club for the project “Help Her Raise”

We were also awarded the:

• Most Inspirational Initiative Under TogetherSL – Project Diriya Pawura by Team Tuskers
• Special Recognition by DRR – Project Husmak Wenuwen
• Rotaract District Citations
• President of the Month of December – Rtr. Keheliya Rajaguru
• Secretary of Quarter 3 – Rtr. Vinuri Galagoda

The District Assembly kept the excitement and enthusiasm rolling with guest performances by renowned singers such as Ms. Falan Andrea and Mr. Srimal Fernando. These performances was the much awaited session of jamming and participants were left amazed by their wonderful talent. The executive vice president of John Keells Holdings, Mr. Nayana Mawilmada, gave an awe-inspiring keynote address which hooked everyone’s ears. Also striking with talent was the incredible Mr. Pradhee Sandeepana who charmed us all with his soothing voice.

The District Assembly eventually ended on a very emotional note marking an end of an era and the beginning of another. Memories and moments are to be cherished but the District Assembly hit everyone where it matters. It delivered on its promise to instill 9 traits in the participants, professionalism, growth, nature, prosperity, power, energy and passion. The development of a true leader.

We would also like to congratulate Immediate Past President of our own club, Rtr. Keheliya Rajaguru, on being appointed as the Joint Director for Club Service in the Rotaract District Steering Committee 2021/22. The District Assembly also marked the beginning of a journey for Rtr. Akhila Wijetunga on being collared as the District Rotaract Representative 2021/22.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations on their prestigious achievements. The 31^st Rotaract District Assembly thus concluded as the first ever to be conducted virtually and ended on a memorable note. We are excited on what the year 2021-22 holds!

2021 ජුලි 10 වන දින ඉතිහාසයේ සුවිශේෂී දිනයක් විය, ප්‍රථම වරට රොටරැක්ට් දිස්ත්‍රික් සමුළුව අතථ්‍ය තාක්ෂණය ඔස්සේ පැවැත්විණි.  පසුගිය වසර කිහිපය තුළ පුද්ගල සහභාගිත්වයෙන් භෞතිකව පවත්වනු ලැබූවද මෙම 31 වන රොටාරැක්ට් දිස්ත්‍රික් සමුළුව COVID-19 සෞඛ්‍ය නීති රෙගුලාසී වලට සීමාවෙමින් ඒම නීති රීති පිළිපැදීම සඳහා අතථ්‍ය මාද්‍යය ඔස්සෙ මෙය පවත්වාගෙන යාමට කටයුතු සූදානම් කිරීමට සිදුවිය.  කෙසේ වුවද, දිස්ත්‍රික් සමුළුව සියල්ලන්ටම ඉතා සිත්ගන්නාසුළු හා ආකර්ෂණීය අත්දැකීමක් විය.  මේ වසරේදී දිස්ත්‍රික් සමුළුව සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබුවේ කොළඹ මිඩ් ටවුන් හි ඕස්ට්‍රේලියානු ව්‍යාපාර හා තාක්ෂණ විද්‍යාලයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජ සහ ශ්‍රී ජයවර්ධනපුර විශ්ව විද්‍යාලය විසිනි.

 මෙම වාර්ෂික උත්සවයේදී නව දිස්ත්‍රික් මෙහෙයුම් කමිටුව ස්ථාපනය කර, නව රොටරැක්ට් වසරක් ආරම්භ කිරීම අරමුණු කරගනිමින් පවත්වන ලදී.  රොටරැක්ට් වර්ෂයකදී මෙම තනාන්තර භාර දීමේ කර්තව්‍යය ඉතා ඉහළ වැදගත්කමක් දරයි.  එය වසරක අවසානය හා තවත් වසරක ආරම්භය, පෙර වසරේ සැමරුම් සහ නව වසර සඳහා මග පෙන්වීම සනිටුහන් කරයි.

 SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය සිය ජාතික තලයේ සලකුණු තබනු ලැබුවේ සම්මාන 14 ක් සඳහා යෝජනා වීම සහ එයින් දිස්ත්‍රික් සම්මාන 6 ක් ලබා ගැනීමෙනි.  SLIIT රොටාරැක්ට් සමාජය විසින් සිදුකරනු ලැබූ කාර්යභාරය හා කැපකිරීම මෙහිදී සම්මානයෙන් පිදුම් ලැබීය.  අපගේ යෝජිත සම්මාන නාම යෝජනා 14  පහත දැක්වේ:

ஜூலை 10 ஆம் திகதி முதல் மெய்நிகர் ரோட்டராக்ட் மாவட்ட சட்டமன்றம் நடைபெற்று வரலாறு ஒன்று படைக்கப்பட்டது. கடந்த ஆண்டுகளில் நேரடியாக நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒன்று கூடல் இந்த முறை COVID-19 கட்டுப்பாடுகள் மற்றும் விதிமுறைகளுக்கு அமைய ஒரு மெய்நிகர் தளத்திற்கு மாற்றப்பட்டது. ஆயினும், மாவட்ட சட்டமன்றம் அனைவருக்கும் மிகவும் பரபரப்பான மற்றும் ஈர்க்கக்கூடிய அனுபவமாக இருந்தது. இந்த ஆண்டு மாவட்ட கழகம் ஆஸ்திரேலிய வணிக மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்லூரி, கொழும்பு மிட் டவுன் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீ ஜெயவர்தனபுரா பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ரோட்டராக்ட் கழகங்களால் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.

இந்த ஆண்டு நிகழ்வு நடாத்த பட்டமைக்கான காரணம் ஒரு புது ரோட்ராக்ட் வருடத்தை ஆரம்பிப்பதட்காகும். இதில் புது வழிகாட்டும் அமைப்பு ஓன்று நிறுவப்பட்டது. ரோட்டராக்ட் ஆண்டில் ஆட்சிகள் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டதில் இது அதிக முக்கியத்துவத்தைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. இது ஒரு வருடத்தின் முடிவையும் மற்றொரு ஆண்டின் தொடக்கத்தையும் குறிக்கிறது, முந்தைய ஆண்டின் கொண்டாட்டங்கள் மற்றும் புதிய ஆண்டிற்கான வழிகாட்டுதல்.

SLIIT இன் ரோட்ராக்ட் சங்கம் 14 விருதுகளுக்கு பட்டியலிடப்பட்டு 6 மாவட்ட விருதுகளை வீட்டிற்கு கொண்டு வந்ததன் மூலம் தேசிய அரங்கில் தனது அடையாளத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தியது. SLIIT இன் ரோட்ராக்ட் அதன் ஏரளமான பங்களிப்புக்களுக்காக வழங்கப்பட்டது மற்றும் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டது.

அவர்களின் மதிப்புமிக்க சாதனைகளுக்கு எங்கள் மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துக்களைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். 31 வது ரோட்டராக்ட் மாவட்ட சட்டமன்றம் மெய்நிகரில் நடத்தப்பட்ட முதல் நிகழ்வாகவும்  மறக்கமுடியாத ஒரு  குறிப்பிலும் நிறைவடைந்தது.  2021-22 ஆண்டு என்னும் என்ன விடயங்களை கொண்டு வரப்போகின்றது என்பதைப் பற்றி நினைத்து நாங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம்!
