Last year we embarked on our journey “To Enrich with Service”. There onwards, we worked hard to fulfill our goals and created lifelong memories along the way. Now, we have officially stepped into the 10th year of Rotaract Club of SLIIT to “Strive to Empower Life”. 21^st of August was not just a regular Sunday for Rotaract Club of SLIIT. The SLIIT Main Auditorium in Malabe appeared to be more delightful than any other day. Everyone’s bright faces, glistening with joy, testified that the Installation Ceremony of Rotaract Club of SLIIT would be a grand success even before it began.

The event began with the arrival of distinguished invitees followed by the lighting of the traditional oil lamp. Subsequently, the house was called to order by the Sergeant at Arms (2021-22), Rtr. Banusha Jananga and the Installation Ceremony was called to order by the outgoing President, Rtr. Nimsara Fernando. The Rotaract Formalities were conducted by Rtr. Rishini Bandaranayake succeeding the National Anthem. The gathering was then warmly welcomed by the project chairpersons, Rtr. Dewmi Siriwardhanae and Rtr. Kavindu Githmin.

The proceedings of the Installation took place with much glamour adding glory to Rotaract Club of SLIIT. The Secretary’s report for the RI year 2021-22 was presented by the outgoing Secretary Rtr. Randima Fernando along with a video clip which walked us through the memory lane of the 9th Rotaract Year. Following the Secretary’s report, the Outgoing President Rtr. Nimsara Fernando was invited to address the gathering and his beloved members for one last time, and his speech laid before us the heartwarming reflections of the previous year. He also emphasized on the fact that general members are the lifeblood of the club. Concluding his speech as a proud outgoing President, he congratulated Rtr. Lathushanan and his Board of Officials. Afterwards, noteworthy general members of Rotaract Club of SLIIT for the RI year 2021-22 were honored with the Presidential Recognition. Most importantly, the Board of Officials of the RI year 2021-22 were presented with letters of service, certificates, and tokens of appreciation to honour their remarkable service for both the club and the community at large.

Time thus arrived to shift the limelight to the newly appointed President and his Board of officials. The introduction of the Incoming President of Rotaract Club of SLIIT for the RI Year 2022-23 evoked in us a wide range of emotions ranging from pride, nostalgia and even humor. Rtr. Lathushanan’s beloved sister, Ashvini Koneswara gave a wonderful fun filled insight to her brother’s life and personality. The highlight of the eve was undoubtedly the collaring of the Incoming President. Accordingly, Rtr. Lathushanan Koneswara was collared as the 10th President of Rotaract Club of SLIIT for the RI year 2022-23. The newly appointed President addressed the gathering with his timeless wisdom and even shared his beliefs on helping others as secret source of a happiness. Afterwards, the President proudly introduced his new Board of Officials to the audience.

After the induction of the Board of Officials the event elevated with splendor and warmth by the wishes and blessings of our invitees and all those who accepted our humble invitations. District Rotaract Representative Rtn. Rtr. PP Ahamed Hussain addressed the gathering and conveyed his warm wishes to Rotaract Club of SLIIT while highlighting the club’s growth and years of community work. Then the audience was addressed by the Assistant District Rotaract Chair, Rtn. IPP Tilani Subasinghe; Guest of Honor, Rtn. Rohan Amirthiah; Chief Guest, Mr. Uditha Gamage, Director of Student Services and Outreach at SLIIT. Additionally, our beloved guests were entertained by an amazing musical performance by our very own talented board members. Afterwards, the Floor was opened for felicitations. SLIIT auditorium was filled with the heartiest congratulations and best wishes marked by the fellow Rotaractors.

Eventually, the 10th Installation Ceremony marked its magnificent finale. The newly appointed Secretary, Rtr. Manisha Alwis gave the vote of thanks. In her speech, Rtr. Manisha Alwis extended her gratitude to everyone who helped to make this big day memorable. The gathering dispersed with bright new hopes and good will for Rotaract Club of SLIIT to embark on their voyage for the RI year 2022-23.

පසුගිය වසරේ අපි “සේවයෙන් පොහොසත් කිරීමට” යන මැයෙන් අපගේ ගමන ආරම්භ කළෙමු. එතැන් සිට අපි අපේ අරමුණු ඉටුකරගනිමින් ජීවිතේ පුරාවටම මතකයන් එකතු කළෙමු.. දැන්, අප “ජීවිතය සවිබල ගැන්වීමට උත්සාහ කිරීම” සඳහා SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයෙහි 10 වන වසරට නිල වශයෙන් පා තැබුවෙමු. අගෝස්තු 21 වෙනිදා SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයට සාමාන්‍ය ඉරිදා දිනයක් පමණක් නොවීය. මාලඹේ SLIIT ආයතනයෙහි ප්‍රධාන ශ්‍රවණාගාරය වෙන කවරදාකටත් වඩා ප්‍රියජනක බව පෙනුණි. SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ  ස්ථාපන උත්සවය ආරම්භ වීමටත් පෙර අති සාර්ථක වනු ඇති බවට ප්‍රීතියෙන් දිදුලන සෑම දෙනාගේම දීප්තිමත් මුහුණු සාක්ෂි දැරීය.

සම්භාවනීය ආරාධිත අමුත්තන්ගේ පැමිණීමෙන් අනතුරුව සම්ප්‍රදායික පොල් තෙල් පහන දැල්වීමෙන් අනතුරුව උත්සවය ආරම්භ විය. පසුව සුපුරුදු පරිදි Rtr. නිම්සර ප්‍රනාන්දු විසින් උත්සවය ආරම්භ කරන ලදී.  ජාතික ගීයෙන් පසු Rtr. රිෂිනි බණ්ඩාරනායක විසින් ප්‍රතිඥා පාඨයන් සහ රොටරැක්ට් කියවීම් ලබාදීමෙන් අනතුරුව ව්‍යාපෘති සභාපතිවරුන් වන Rtr. දෙව්මි සිරිවර්ධන සහ Rtr. කවිඳු ගිත්මින් විසින් සියළුම දෙනා පිළිගැනිණි. 

SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයට කීර්තියක් එක් කරමින් ස්ථාපන උත්සවයේ කටයුතු ඉතා අලංකාරවත්ව සිදු විය. වැනි රොටරැක්ට් පසුගිය වසරේ මතක මාවත ඔස්සේ අපව රැගෙන ගිය වීඩියෝ පටයක් සමඟින් 2021-22 රොටරැක්ට් වර්ෂය සඳහා ලේකම්වරයාගේ වාර්තාව ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලද්දේ ඉවත්වන ලේකම් Rtr. රන්දිම ප්‍රනාන්දු විසිනි. ලේකම්වරයාගේ වාර්තාවෙන් පසුව, නික්ම යන ජනාධිපති Rtr. නිම්සර ප්‍රනාන්දුට අවසන් වරට රැස්ව සිටි පිරිස සහ ඔහුගේ ආදරණීය සාමාජිකයන් ඇමතීමට ආරාධනා කළ අතර ඔහුගේ කතාව පසුගිය වසරේ හද උණුසුම් කරවන ආවර්ජන අප හමුවේ තැබුවේය. සාමාන්‍යයෙන් සාමාජිකයන් සමාජයේ ජීවනාලිය බව ද ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය. අභිමානවත්ව නික්ම යන සභාපතිවරයෙකු ලෙස සිය කතාව අවසන් කරමින් ඔහු Rtr. ලතුෂනන් සහ ඔහුගේ නිලධාරී මණ්ඩලය වෙත සුබ පැතුම් එක් කළේය. ඉන් අනතුරුව, 2021-22 රොටරැක්ට් වර්ෂය සඳහා SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ කැපී පෙනෙන සාමාජිකයින්ට සභාපතිතුමාගේ ඇගයීමෙන් ගෞරව දක්වන ලදී. වැදගත්ම දෙය නම්, රොටරැක්ට් වර්ෂයේ 2021-22 නිලධාරි මණ්ඩලයට සේවා ලිපි, සහතික සහ ප්‍රශංසා සංකේත පිරිනැමුනේ සමාජයට සහ ප්‍රජාවට විශාල වශයෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ විශිෂ්ඨ සේවාව ඇගයීමටය.

Rtr ලතුෂනන්ගේ ආදරණීය සොහොයුරිය වන අශ්විනි කෝනේස්වර විසින් සිය සොහොයුරාගේ ජීවිතය සහ පෞරුෂය පිළිබඳ අපූරු විනෝදාත්මක අවබෝධයක් ලබා දුන්නාය. මීළඟ වැදගත්ම සිදුවීම වූයේ Rtr. ලතුෂනන් කොනේස්වර වෙත 2022-23 වසර සඳහා නිල  සංකේත භාරදීමේ අවස්ථාවයි. ඉන්පසු නව සභාපතිවරයා රැස්ව සිටි පිරිස ඇමතූ අතර සතුටේ රහස් මූලාශ්‍රයක් ලෙස අන් අයට උපකාර කිරීම පිළිබඳ තම විශ්වාසයන් පවා බෙදා ගත්තේය. අනතුරුව සභාපතිතුමා අභිමානවත් ලෙස සිය නව නිලධාරී මණ්ඩලය හඳුන්වා දුන්නේය.

නිළධාරී මණ්ඩලය පත්කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව අපගේ නිහතමානී ආරාධනා පිළිගත් අපගේ ආරාධිතයින්ගේ ආශිර්වාදයෙන් උත්සවය උත්කර්ෂවත් මෙන්ම උණුසුම් ලෙසින්   ඉදිරියට ඇදිණි. දිස්ත්‍රික් රොටරැක්ට් නියෝජිත Rtn. Rtr. PP අහමඩ් හුසේන් රැස්ව සිටි පිරිස ඇමතූ අතර SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය වෙත සිය උණුසුම් සුභ පැතුම් පිරිනැමූ අතර සමාජයේ වර්ධනය සහ වසර ගණනාවක ප්‍රජා වැඩ කටයුතු ඉස්මතු කළේය. අනතුරුව සහකාර දිස්ත්‍රික් රොටරැක්ට් සභාපති Rtn. IPP තිලානි සුබසිංහ; ගෞරවනීය ආරාධිත අමුත්තා වූ, Rtn. රොහාන් අමිර්තිය; ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා වූ, SLIITහි ශිෂ්‍ය සේවා සහ බාහිර අධ්‍යක්ෂ උදිත ගමගේ මහතා විසින් සභාව ඇමතීය. මීට අමතරව, අපගේම දක්ෂ නිලධාරී මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින් විසින් විස්මිත සංගීත ප්‍රසංගයකින් අපගේ ආදරණීය අමුත්තන් සතුටු කරන ලදී. අනතුරුව සුභපැතුම් පිරිනැමීම සඳහා වේදිකාව  විවෘත කෙරිණි.
