One of the original initiative projects of the International Services Avenue of Rotaract Club of SLIIT was the latest project, known as “Shikishi”. This project was entailed with 2 different phases, such as, the “Phase I – The workshop” & the “Phase 2 – The Competition”. The elite objectives of this project were to develop the creative expertise of the public by educating them with the art of folding papers, Origami and to toughen the fellowship amongst the Rotaract Clubs of the Rotaract District.

What is “Shikishi” & Origami?

Fundamentally, Shikishi is a Japanese word describing specially prepared fancy tinted or decorated square papers which are used in autography, poetry & origami, etc. 

And profoundly, Origami, is the Japanese art of paper folding or the art of folding objects out of any paper to create both two-dimensional and three-dimensional subjects.

This initiative commenced virtually from the 5th of September 2022 until 21st of October 2022 via Zoom conferencing platform with more than 75 participants. Correspondingly, the Phase 1 – The Workshop was held on 14th October 2022 at 7.00 pm and the Phase 2 – The Competition was held by instructing the participants to submit a small video clip of them making a beautiful Origami art. This session was conducted by Ms. Tamashi Kasthuriarachchi who is an Origami Instructor in Sri Lanka.

Additionally, this project with 2 phases was fruitfully completed as a joyful project to the participants by enhancing the artistic skills of them and strengthening the companionship of the fellow Rotaractors.

“මාගේ ඔරිගාමි නිර්මාණ, ස්වභාවධර්මයේ නියමයන්ට අනුකූලව, ජ්‍යාමිතිය, විද්‍යාව සහ භෞතික විද්‍යාව භාවිතා කිරීම අවශ්‍ය වේ. ඒවාට ආගම, දර්ශනය සහ ජෛව රසායනය ද ඇතුළත් වේ. සමස්තයක් වශයෙන්, මට අවශ්‍ය වන්නේ ඔබ ඔබේම අතින් නිර්මාණයේ සතුට සොයා ගැනීමයි. කඩදාසි වලින් නිර්මාණය කිරීමේ හැකියාව අසීමිතයි.

අකිරා යොෂිසාවා

SLIIT රොට්රැක්ට් සමාජයෙහි ජාත්‍යන්තර සේවා අංශයේ ආරම්භක ව්‍යාපෘතිවලින් එකක් වූයේ “Shikishi” නමින් හැඳින්වෙන නවතම ව්‍යාපෘතියයි. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියෙහි පළමු අදියර වැඩමුළුවකින්ද දෙවන අදියර තරඟයකින්ද සමන්විත විය. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ප්‍රධාන අරමුණු වූයේ කඩදාසි නැවීමේ කලාව, ඔරිගාමි පිළිබඳ ජනතාව දැනුවත් කරමින් ඔවුන්ගේ නිර්මාණාත්මක ප්‍රවීණත්වය වර්ධනය කිරීම සහ රොටරැක්ට් දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජ අතර සහයෝගීතාව දැඩි කිරීම ය.

“Shikishi” සහ ඔරිගාමි යනු කුමක්ද? 

මූලික වශයෙන්, Shikishi යනු ස්වයංක්‍රීයකරණය, කවි සහ ඔරිගාමි ආදියෙහි භාවිතා වන විශේෂයෙන් සකස් කරන ලද විසිතුරු වර්ණ ගැන්වූ හෝ සරසා ඇති හතරැස් කඩදාසි විස්තර කරන ජපන් වචනයකි. ඔරිගාමි යනු ජපන් කඩදාසි නැවීමේ කලාව හෝ ද්විමාන සහ ත්‍රිමාණ විෂයන් දෙකම නිර්මාණය කිරීම සඳහා ඕනෑම කඩදාසියකින් වස්තූන් නැමීමේ කලාවයි.

මෙම මුලපිරීම 2022 සැප්තැම්බර් 5 වන දින සිට 2022 ඔක්තෝබර් 21 වන දින දක්වා 75කට වැඩි පිරිසකගේ සහභාගීත්වයක් සමඟ Zoom වේදිකාව ඔස්සේ පැවැත්විණි. ඊට අනුරූපව පළමු අදියර වූ වැඩමුළුව 2022 ඔක්තොම්බර් 14 වන දින රාත්‍රී 7.00 ට පැවැත්වුනු අතර දෙවන අදියර වූ තරඟය පැවැත්වූයේ අලංකාර ඔරිගාමි චිත්‍රයක් සාදන කුඩා වීඩියෝ පටයක් ඉදිරිපත් කරන ලෙස සහභාගිවන්නන්ට උපදෙස් දීමෙනි. මෙම සැසිය මෙහෙයවනු ලැබුවේ ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ඔරිගාමි උපදේශකවරියක වන තමාෂි කස්තුරිආරච්චි මහත්මිය විසිනි.

මීට අමතරව, අදියර 2 කින් සමන්විත මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සහභාගිවන්නන්ගේ කලා කුසලතා වැඩි දියුණු කරමින් සහ සහෝදර රොට්රැක්ටර්වරුන්ගේ සහයෝගීතාවය ශක්තිමත් කරමින් ඔවුන්ගේ ප්‍රීතිමත් ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ලෙස ඵලදායීව නිම කරන ලදී.

SLIIT இன் Rotaract Club இன் சர்வதேச சேவைகள் அவென்யூவின் மற்றொரு  முன்முயற்சி திட்டங்களில் ஒன்று “Shikishi” என அழைக்கப்படும் சமீபத்திய திட்டமாகும்.  இந்த திட்டம் “Phase I – The Workshop” மற்றும் “Phase 2 –  The Competition” போன்ற 2 வெவ்வேறு கட்டங்களுடன் இணைக்கப்பட்டது.  இந்த திட்டத்தின் நோக்கங்கள், பொது படைப்பாற்றல் நிபுணத்துவத்தை அவர்களுக்கு தாள்களை மடிக்கும் கலை, Origami ஆகியவற்றைக் கற்றுக் கொடுப்பது மற்றும் Rotaract பிராந்தியத்தின் Rotaract Club  கூட்டுறவுகளை வலுப்படுத்துவது ஆகும்.

“Shikishi” & Origami என்றால் என்ன?

இந்த அடிப்படையில், Shikishi என்பது ஜப்பானிய வார்த்தையாகும், இது சிறப்பாக தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட ஆடம்பரமான வண்ணம் அல்லது அலங்கரிக்கப்பட்ட சதுர காகிதங்களை விவரிக்கிறது, அவை autography, கவிதை மற்றும் Origami போன்றவற்றில் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன

மேலும் ஆழமாக, Origami என்பது ஜப்பானிய காகித மடிப்பு கலை அல்லது இரு பரிமாண மற்றும் முப்பரிமாண பாடங்களை உருவாக்க எந்த காகிதத்திலிருந்து பொருட்களையும் மடிக்கும் கலை.

இந்த முயற்சி செப்டம்பர் 5, 2022 முதல் அக்டோபர் 21, 2022 வரை 75க்கும் மேற்பட்ட பங்கேற்பாளர்களுடன் Zoom conferencing platform  மூலம்  தொடங்கப்பட்டது.  அதன்படி, Phase 1 – The Workshop” 14 அக்டோபர் 2022 அன்று இரவு 7.00 மணிக்கு நடைபெற்றது மற்றும் Phase 2- The Competion, பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் அழகான Origami கலையை உருவாக்கும் ஒரு சிறிய video clipபை சமர்ப்பிக்க அறிவுறுத்துவதன் மூலம் நடைபெற்றது.  இந்த அமர்வை இலங்கையில் Origami பயிற்றுவிப்பாளராக உள்ள Ms Tamashi Kasthuriarachchi நடத்தினார்.

மேலும், 2 கட்டங்களைக் கொண்ட இந்தத் திட்டம் பங்கேற்பாளர்களின் கலைத் திறன்களை மேம்படுத்தி, சக ரோட்டராக்டர்களின் தோழமையை வலுப்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் அவர்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியான திட்டமாக பலனளிக்கும் வகையில் நிறைவு பெற்றது.
