Project Language Fusion was brought to life by the collective efforts of the Rotaract Clubs of Akash, Petillia Policastro and SLIIT, epitomising the power of linguistic exchange in fostering global connections and understanding. The project, aimed at broadening language horizons and embracing diverse viewpoints, attracted over 30 participants for its proceedings on the 20th of March.
Each club showcased a unique language of their country, covering essentials like the alphabet, vocabulary and commonly used phrases. Participants actively engaged with the presenters by oral drilling and questioning when necessary, enhancing their linguistic prowess in Tamil, Sinhala and Italian.
The project’s significance goes beyond language learning; it fosters mutual understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures. The participants bonded over discussions on movie phrases and jokes specific to their languages, showcasing the warmth and camaraderie fostered through such initiatives. The session was graced by esteemed figures like DRR Rtr. PP Sathma Jayasinghe, ADRR Rtr. PP Sasitha Eldeniya, and GCC Rtr. Monali Bandhurathne who added immense value to the event with their love and encouragement.
Language Fusion serves as a testament to the transformative power of language in promoting global interaction and understanding. It celebrates linguistic diversity while cultivating connections that transcend borders, embodying the spirit of unity in diversity within the Rotaract community and beyond.
