You Matter💜

The Rotaract Club of Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, which is a part of the global youth community, is a club committed to make a positive change while serving the community.

As a result, “You Matter” is an initiative by the Rotaract club of SLIIT to focus on mental health awareness and well-being. It is currently run through an Instagram account where posts are shared and Q&A sessions are held with regard to our main focus area and in order to provide emotional support.

In a country where mental health is disregarded to a certain extent, it is our responsibility to keep our community aware of the importance of mental health and well-being and the consequences of not being mentally healthy. We also aim to share methods and tips to improve well-being.
Currently, “You Matter” is limited to Instagram which has been able to reach out to 250+ users. It is expected to expand “You Matter” in the upcoming years of Rotaract to improve the audience in order to create a greater impact. As we have been able to discuss and provide tips focusing day to day matters that our young crowd faces, we have been able to receive a positive feedback from our audience.

Furthermore, in line with the mental health awareness month; project “Glow” was initiated to take a step ahead from sharing posts in Instagram and provide public a platform to talk about general mental challenges we face in this rapidly changing world and to provide professional advice to stand against those challenges. Project “Glow” was on live on the 26th of May on the official Facebook page of Rotaract Club of SLIIT. It was an open discussion with the Clinical Psychologist, Ms. Ruzla Markar who is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience in the field of Psychology; to help individuals to unleash the best version of themselves.

Watch now and Glow✨👇🏼

We hope to be a trustworthy companion to the general public to help them be mentally healthy and well.
