Do you Dare to Care?

All of us together were running towards higher paths in our life by setting new goals for the year 2020. Then tragic, dangerous and powerful corona virus invaded our lives to stop us scoring in 2020. Almost all the lives were affected, not just by the virus but also by the effect that virus brought into the economy of the world. The new words lockdown, quarantine and self-isolation were added to our dictionaries.

Each country out there was battling to defeat the pandemic and luckily, we as a nation defeated it and kept on bringing our lives back to where we stopped. Even though we were turning back to normal, our government, tri-forces and health officials kept asking us to adhere the health guidelines and safety measures to protect ourselves. But we all are humans and sometimes we forget to listen to what they say so, people were careless about it. We the Rotaractors from Rotaract Club of SLIIT on the second day of Titans Games Series decided to address people individually or as a group and create awareness among them.

To make this awareness campaign in a fun way, we gave each of the Rotaractors who were present on that day a dare which included like, go and ask a random person to sanitize their hands, choose a partner and walk with them to represent social distancing, explain a stranger about the different kind of masks and address more people and ask them to wear masks and sanitize hands frequently also to maintain social distancing. While our enthusiastic Rotaractors did their dares, these dares were shot to be published in our social media pages to create awareness among more people through it.

Since the day we chose for the project was a rainy day we moved to Colombo City Center where many people gather on Sunday evenings. And then the most awaited time came for Rotaractors to meet the dares. Firstly, Rtr. Keheliya Rajaguru and Rtr. Duleesha Waidyaratne was asked to meet a random person and ask them to always sanitize their hands. Next, Rtr. Vinuri Galagoda was given a dare to pick one of us and asked to walk together by hold heart with that person by maintaining social distancing. Moved on to the next dare where Rtr. Nishiki Yapa had to walk to the 15^th person she meets and to explain that person about the different kinds of masks, the better one to wear during this pandemic. The last dare of the day was done by the man of dares (named by Duleesha) who gave a perfect finish to the awareness campaign. Rtr. Lathushanan Koneswara (yes, that’s me 😂) had to address people out there and ask them to maintain social distancing, wear mask and to sanitize their hands frequently.

Big bow 👏 to our beloved Rotaractors in doing those dares successfully. Then the videos which were recorded while doing those dares were published in our social media pages to create more awareness and to appreciate our Rotaractors for their courage in doing this. Later “Dare to care” won the 1^st runner up for the most outstanding digital communication effort at the Endgame of Titans Games Series. 💖

2020 වසරේ නව ඉලක්ක පසු පස හඹා යමින් සිටි අප සියලු දෙනාගේම ජීවිත නොසිතූ ලෙස ඛේදජනක, භයානක හා බලගතු කොරෝනා වෛරසය විසින් ආක්‍රමණය කරන ලදි. ලෝක ආර්ථිකයට වෛරසය ගෙන ආ බලපෑමෙන් අප සියලු දෙනාගේම ජිවිත අඩාල විය. ලොක්ඩවුන්, නිරෝධායනය සහ ස්වයං හුදකලාව යන නව වචන අපගේ ශබ්ධ කෝශවලට එකතුවිය.වසංගතය පරාජය කිරීමට සෑම රටක්ම පාහේ සටන් කරමින් සිටි අතර වාසනාවකට මෙන්, ජාතියක් වශයෙන් අප එය පරාජය කර අපගේ ජීවිත නැවත නැවැත්වූ ස්ථානයට ගෙන එනු ලැබීය. අප යථා තත්ත්වයට පත්වුවද, අපගේ රජය, ත්‍රිවිධ හමුදාව සහ සෞඛ්‍ය නිලධාරීන් අපව ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීම සඳහා සෞඛ්‍ය මාර්ගෝපදේශ හා ආරක්ෂක පියවරයන් අනුගමනය කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා සිටියහ. නමුත් අපි සියල්ලෝම මිනිසුන් වන බැවින් සමහර විට ඔවුන් පවසන දේට ඇහුම්කන් දීමට අපට අමතක වීම සාමන්‍ය වූ අතර මිනිසුන් ඒ ගැන නොසැලකිලිමත් විය.Titans ක්‍රීඩා මාලාවේ දෙවන දිනයේදී SLIIT හි රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයෙහි අපි ආරක්ශාවීම ගැන දැනුවත්භාවය ඇති කිරීමට පියවරක් ලෙස Dare to Care ව්‍යාපෘතිය දියත් කලෙමු.

මෙම දැනුවත් කිරීමේ ව්‍යාපාරය විනෝදජනක අයුරින් සිදු කිරීම සඳහා, එදින පැමිණ සිටි එක් එක් රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන්ට අපි අභියෝග කිහිපයක් ලබා දුන්නෙමු. අහඹු පුද්ගලයෙකු වෙත ගොස් ඔවුන්ගේ දෑත් පිරිසිදු කරන්නැයි ඉල්ලා සිටින්න, හවුල්කරුවෙකු තෝරාගෙන ඔවුන් සමඟ සමාජ දුරස්ථභාවය තබා ඇවිදින්න, විවිධ වර්ගයේ මුඛ ආවරණ ගැන ආගන්තුකයෙකුට පැහැදිලි කර දැනුවත් කරන්න ආදී විවිධ අභියෝග අපගේ උද්යෝගිමත් කණ්ඩායම තවත් දිරිමත් කරන ලදි. වැඩි පිරිසක් දැනුවත් කිරීම සඳහා අපගේ සමාජ මාධ්‍ය පිටුවල පළ කිරීමට මෙම නිර්භීතකම රූගත කරන ලදී.

අප නිර්භීත කණ්ඩායමේ උද්‍යෝගය සහ අභියෝග ඉදිරියේ පෙන්වූ කැපවීම නිසාම “Dare to Care” , End Game of Titans ක්‍රීඩා මාලාවේ වඩාත්ම කැපී පෙනෙන ඩිජිටල් සන්නිවේදන ප්‍රයත්නය සඳහා පළමු ස්ථානය දිනාගන්නා ලදි. 💖

2020 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான புதிய இலக்குகளை நிர்ணயிப்பதன் மூலம் நாங்கள் அனைவரும் சேர்ந்து எங்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் உயர்ந்த பாதைகளை நோக்கி ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தோம். பின்னர் சோகமான, ஆபத்தான மற்றும் சக்திவாய்ந்த கொரோனா வைரஸ் 2020 இல் எங்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் படையெடுத்தது. கிட்டத்தட்ட எல்லா உயிர்களும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன,இவ் வைரஸினால் மட்டும் அல்லாது அது உலக பொருளாதாரத்தில் ஏற்றப்படுத்திய விளைவால். பல புதிய சொற்கள் எங்கள் அகராதிகளில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டன.

டைட்டன்ஸ் விளையாட்டுத் தொடரின் இரண்டாம் நாளில் SLIIT ரோட்டராக்ட் கிளப் யின் ரோட்டராக்டர்கள் பொதுமக்களிடம் தனித்தனியாக அல்லது ஒரு குழுவாக உரையாற்றவும், கொரோனா வைரஸ் முன்னெச்சரிக்கை குறித்து அவர்களிடையே விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தவும் முடிவு செய்தோம். இந்த விழிப்புணர்வு பிரச்சாரத்தை ஒரு வேடிக்கையான வழியில் செய்ய, அந்த நாளில் இருந்த ஒவ்வொரு ரோட்டராக்டர்களுக்கும் நாங்கள் ஒரு டாஸ்கினை வழங்கினோம், அதில் ஒரு நபரை தங்கள் கைகளைத் தூய்மைப்படுத்தச் சொல்லுங்கள்,ஒரு நண்பருடன் சமூக இடைவெளியை பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்த அவர்களுடன் நடந்து செல்லுங்கள் போன்றவை மூலம் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்றப்படுத்தும் படி கூறினோம். எங்கள் உற்சாகமான ரோட்டராக்டர்கள் தங்கள் டாஸ்கினை செய்தனர், அவற்றை படம் பிடித்து எங்கள் சமூக ஊடக பக்கங்களில் பதிவிட்டோம், இதன் மூலம் அதிகமான மக்களிடையே விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவது எமது நோக்கமாக இருந்தது.
