The project STRIDE, initiated by the club’s Professional Development Avenue, concluded successfully, with the inter-university prepared speech contest- ELOQUENCE 2021. This contest was held as the last phase of Speaker STRIDE and was organized in collaboration with the SLIIT Gavel club. The main objective of the competition was to provide a platform for the expression of creative thoughts and contemporary solutions by the youth of the nation, whilst improving their public speaking skills.

The competition initiated on the 10th of May 2021, with the acceptance of video submission of speeches delivered by Rotaractors and non-Rotaractors, currently enrolled in a state or non-state university. The submissions for the first round closed on the 20th of May, upon receiving over 50 video submissions. These speeches were evaluated by a panel of 7 judges, overlooked by the chief judge, Toastmaters Mihikala Hindellarachchi on Sunday, the 23rd of May, to select the best 8 speakers to compete at the finale.

The Finale was held on the 30th of May 2021 over ZOOM, and was live broadcasted over Facebook. The contest was ensured to be fair for all contestants with many rules and regulations, and precaution in place.The event was a colorful couple of hours with amazing speeches, fun conversation, entertaining performances and an award ceremony.

The winners of the contest were:

2nd runner up– Shakthi Senarathne(University of Peradeniya)
1st runner up– Malintha Fernando(University of Moratuwa)
Winner(Miss ELOQUENCE) – Saeedha Nazar (University of Moratuwa)

The event attracted a large crowd from multiple universities to the audience on Facebook and thereby became a very competitive finale.

STRIDE thereby concluded successfully for the Rotaract year 2020/2021.

රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ වෘත්තීය සංවර්ධන අංශය විසින් ආරම්භ කරන ලද STRIDE ව්‍යාපෘතිය අන්තර් විශ්ව විද්‍යාල කථන තරගයක් වන ELOQUENCE 2021 සමඟ සාර්ථකව අවසන් විය. මෙම තරගය Speaker Stride හි අවසාන අදියර ලෙස පවත්වන ලද අතර එය SLIIT Gavel සමාජයේ සහයෝගයෙන් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. තරඟයේ මූලික පරමාර්ථය වූයේ ජාතියේ තරුණ තරුණියන්ගේ නිර්මාණාත්මක සිතුවිලි සහ සමකාලීන විසඳුම් ප්‍රකාශ කිරීම සඳහා වේදිකාවක් සැපයීමයි.

2021 මැයි මස 10 වන දින ආරම්භ කරන ලදි. මෙම තරගය, දැනට රාජ්‍ය හෝ රාජ්‍ය නොවන විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයක අධ්‍යාපනය ලබන රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් සහ රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන් නොවන සිසුන් සදහා විවෘත වූ අතර වීඩියෝ ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම් 50 කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් ලැබීමෙන් පසු පළමු වටය සඳහා ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම් මැයි 20 වන දින අවසන් විය.මෙම කථන ඉදිරිපත් කිරීම්, විනිශ්චයකරුවන් 7 දෙනෙකුගෙන් යුත් මණ්ඩලයක් විසින් ඇගයීමට ලක් කරන ලද අතර, මැයි 23 වන ඉරිදා අගවිනිසුරු විසින් අවසාන තරඟයට තරඟ කිරීම සඳහා හොඳම කථිකයන් 8 දෙනා තෝරා ගැනිනි. අවසාන තරගය 2021 මැයි 30 වන දින ZOOM හරහා පවත්වන ලද අතර එය ෆේස්බුක් හරහා සජීවීව විකාශය විය. මෙම උත්සවය විස්මිත කථා, විනෝදජනක සංවාද, විනෝදාත්මක රංගනයන් සහ සම්මාන උළෙලක් සහිතව වර්ණවත් පැය කිහිපයක් ලෙස ඉතිහාසගත විය.

கிளப்பின் நிபுணத்துவ மேம்பாட்டு அவென்யூவால் தொடங்கப்பட்ட STRIDE திட்டம் வெற்றிகரமாக முடிந்தது, பல்கலைக்கழகங்களுக்கு இடையேயான பேச்சுப் போட்டி- ELOQUENCE 2021 உடன். இந்த போட்டி speaker STRIDE யின் கடைசி கட்டமாக நடைபெற்றது மற்றும் SLIIT Gavel கிளப்புடன் இணைந்து ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது. போட்டியின் முக்கிய நோக்கம் தேசத்தின் இளைஞர்களால் ஆக்கபூர்வமான எண்ணங்கள் மற்றும் சமகால தீர்வுகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்கான ஒரு தளத்தை வழங்குவதாகும், அதே நேரத்தில் அவர்களின் பொது பேசும் திறனை மேம்படுத்தவும் இருந்தது.
