Writing is more than just a skill, it is more than just a passion, it is a way of releasing yourself into the wilderness of imaginations. WriterX was a competition that began in order to help recruits unleash their creativity.

Submissions for the competition was first opened on the 29^th of July by circulating material related to the competition. Alongside the publicised content, the topics, rules and regulations of the competition were also circulated. WriterX provided the contestants the following 3 topics:

• If you were the President of Sri Lanka, what steps would you undertake to manage the pandemic and the state of the country.
• Narcotics, legalize? Defend your opinion.
• Start with “A home-schooled boy suddenly disappears, and the only clue is a short story he recently printed off his computer…”.

WriterX initially having settled on the deadline for submissions as the 4^th of August had to immediately extend it to the 6^th of August due to the overwhelming number of submissions reaching over 30 that include languages from English and Sinhala. 

After weeks of going forth with the submissions the judges came to a decision of the winners. The winners of WriterX were announced as:

• English – Manelka Jayasooriya 
• Sinhala – Dulmi Prabodha

We congratulate the two winners and in celebration we sent them a gift to appreciate their efforts towards the competition. Additionally, all the participants received a certificate from the Rotaract Club of SLIIT to recognise the efforts and dedication towards WriterX.

Enthusiastic participants were given the privileged opportunity to join the Editorial Team at the Rotaract Club of SLIIT in order to provide a platform for the young talent to grow, learn and improve on their much-valued skills. We at the Editorial Team are excited to have such talented individuals in the team.

ලේඛන හැකියාව යනු කුසලතාවයකටත් ආශාවකටත් එහා යන්නාවූ සුන්දර කලාවක් ලෙස හැඳින්වීම නිවැරදිය. WriterX ව්‍යාපෘතිය යනු රොටරැක්ට් පවුලේ නවකයන්ට තම ලේඛන හැකියාව විදහා පෑමට අවස්ථාව උදාකර දුන් වේදිකාවකි. තරඟය සදහා නිර්මාණ භාරගැනීම ජූලි මස 29 වැනිදා ආරම්භ කරන ලද අතර තරඟයේ මාතෘකා නීති රීති ආදිය ද ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරන ලදී.

නිර්මාණ භාර ගැනීමේ අවසන් දිනය අගෝස්තු 4 වැනිදා ලෙස ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කළත් පසුව එය අගෝස්තු මස 10 වැනි දා දක්වා දීර්ඝ කිරීමට සිදුවූයේ ඉංග්‍රීසි සහ සිංහල යන භාෂා ද්විත්වයෙන්ම නිර්මාණ 30කට අධික සංඛ්‍යාවක් අප වෙත ලැබීම හේතුවෙනි. නිර්මාණ භාර ගැනීම අවසන් වූ පසු විනිසුරු මඩුල්ල විසින් සියලු නිර්ණායකයන් සලකා බලා ජයග්‍රාහකයින් තෝරා පත්කර ගන්නා ලදී. 

ජයග්‍රහකයින් සියලු දෙනාටම උණුසුම් සුබ පැතුම් එක් කරන අතර තරඟය ජයගැනීම සඳහා ඔවුන් ගත් උත්සාහයත් ඔවුන්ගේ හැකියාවත් ඇගයීමක් ලෙස අප ඔවුන්ට ත්‍යාග ප්‍රදානය කළෙමු. ඊට අමතරව WriterX තරඟය සඳහා සහභාගි වූ සියලු දෙනාගේම උත්සාහයත් කැපවීමත් අගය කිරීම උදෙසා ඔවුන් සියලු දෙනාටම SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය මඟින් සහතික පත්‍රයක් පිරිනැමිනි. 

තරුණ ලේඛකයන්ගේ ලේබන කුසලතාවය වැඩිදියුණු කිරීමත් ඔවුනට තම හැකියා හැකියා විදහා දැක්වීමට අවශ්‍ය වේදිකාවක් සැපයීමත් අරමුණු කර ගනිමින් පැවති WriterX තරඟාවලිය හරහා උද්‍යෝගිමත් තරඟකරුවන් සඳහා SLIIT රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ කතෘ මණ්ඩලයට සම්බන්ධ වීමේ වරප්‍රසාදය හිමිකර දීමට අපට හැකිවිය. එවැනි උද්‍යෝගිමත් දක්ශයින්  අප කණ්ඩායට එක් කර ගැනීමට හැකිවීම පිළිබඳව කතෘ මණ්ඩලයේ අපි සතුටු වන්නෙමු.

WriterX கட்டுரைகளை சமர்ப்பிப்பிபதற்கான காலக்கெடுவானது ஆரம்பத்தில் ஆகஸ்ட் 4 ஆம் திகதி வழங்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால் ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் சிங்கள மொழிகள் அடங்கிய 30 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சமர்ப்பிப்புகளின் எண்ணிக்கை காரணமாக அதை  ஆகஸ்ட் 6 ஆம் திகதி வரை நீட்டிக்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.

மேலும் WriterXஇன் இரண்டு வெற்றியாளர்களை நாங்கள் வாழ்த்தி   போட்டியை நோக்கிய அவர்களின் முயற்சிகளைப் பாராட்டி பரிசுகளை அனுப்பி வைத்தோம்.  கூடுதலாக, போட்டியாளர்கள் அனைவரும்  WriterX மீதான முயற்சி மற்றும் அர்ப்பணிப்பை அங்கீகரிப்பதற்காக SLIIT இன் ரோட்டராக்ட் கழகம் சார்பாக  சான்றிதழ் வழங்கப்பட்டது.

ஆர்வமுள்ள பங்கேற்பாளர்களின்  திறமைகளை வளர்கவும், கற்றுக்கொள்ளவும் மற்றும் அவர்களின்  திறன்களை மேம்படுத்தவும் ஒரு வாய்ப்பை வழங்குவதற்காக SLIIT இன் ரோட்டராக்ட் கழகத்தின் தொகுப்பாக்க குழுவில் சேர அழைப்பை பெற்றனர்.  தொகுப்பாக்க குழுவில்  இத்தகைய திறமையான நபர்கள் இருப்பதில் நாங்கள் மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம்.
